Nitrogen Blowdown Evaporator Used in Extractables & Leachables Testing

Written by Organomation | February 21, 2021

Scientists at a leading contract research laboratory use Organomation’s 24 Position dry bath N-EVAP for extractables and leachables (E&L) testing. Operated in an analytical lab that provides testing for the pharmaceutical industry, Organomation’s N-EVAP concentrator is utilized to prep samples for the E&L testing.

E&L testing is used to determine if a drug product interacts with any materials it comes into contact with. Potential interactions may change the safety or efficacy of the drug—hence the importance of extracting.

Organomation’s N-EVAP instrument helps concentrate several samples at once, which speeds up the process. One scientist states, “The instrument saves time and money. It has made the research increasingly easier because it is efficient and very well designed. Additionally, it saves money by not having to build our own evaporators.”

This research lab hopes to continue to ensure ongoing patient safety through extractables and leachables testing for the biopharma industry.
