Since different applications use evaporation for different things, we wanted to make sure that the lab or scientist who wins is getting the best evaporator for their needs - that's what Organomation is all about!
How can you determine whether an evaporator is the right fit for your lab? To make that decision, we look at the number of samples you'll be evaporating, as well as the desired sample volume and analytes used. Factors such as the ability to use heat, the acidity of the solvent, and the need for flexibility are all taken into consideration. This contest is designed with low-budget labs in mind. We encourage any scientist, student, or other evaporation aficionado to enter. We're looking for labs who evaporate their samples using nitrogen or compressed air in an unconventional and unique way, without the use of a traditional sample evaporator. Maybe you've created your own manifold that distributes gas to multiple samples at once, or maybe you've rigged up a heated sample holder using miscellaneous parts around the lab. If you or someone you know has a creative evaporation setup like this, this contest is for you!
Contest submissions will be judged on their creativity, the functionality of the evaporator, and the design or style of their solution. The rules are pretty simple: any scientist who is currently using a homemade evaporator system, or who anticipates a need for an evaporator and wants to design a system, is welcome to enter. The winner will be chosen from eligible contestants who have submitted their homemade evaporator design and followed our page on LinkedIn. To be eligible for this contest, your lab must be located in the United States, Puerto Rico, or the District of Columbia and you must be 18 years of age or older.
