Berlin, MA – October 8, 2024 – Organomation, a leading manufacturer of sample preparation equipment, proudly announces Dr. Caitlin Cain as the recipient of the Outstanding Achievement in Gas Chromatography award at LCGC International's Rising Stars of Separation Science Awards. The award was presented on October 7, 2024, during the International Symposium on Chromatography (ISC) in Liverpool, UK.

The LCGC International Rising Stars of Separation Science Awards recognize emerging talents and innovations in chromatography. Organomation's sponsorship underscores its commitment to advancing scientific research and supporting future leaders in separation science.

In his speech read at the awards ceremony, David Oliva, General Manager at Organomation, highlighted the company's dedication to fostering innovation and excellence. "Organomation has been a leader in sample preparation equipment manufacturing for over six decades, and we are proud to sponsor this award to recognize and encourage the next generation of innovators in separation science," said Oliva.

Dr. Caitlin Cain, currently a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Michigan, was honored for her remarkable contributions to separation science. Her innovative work on developing novel non-targeted data analysis techniques for GC-MS and GC×GC-MS during her Ph.D. at the University of Washington has advanced our understanding of gas chromatography and opened new avenues for analyte discovery.

With over 20 co-authored publications, including 14 as first author, Dr. Cain has demonstrated exceptional productivity and leadership in her research. Her achievements have been recognized by numerous prestigious awards, including the Rising Stars in Analytical Chemistry at the 2024 ACS Fall National Meeting and the JEOL – Richard D. Sacks Student Award at the 20th International GC×GC Symposium.

"Dr. Cain's work embodies the spirit of innovation and excellence that we strive to foster in our industry," Oliva noted. "At Organomation, we believe that supporting rising stars like Dr. Cain is crucial for the continued advancement of separation science."

ISC 2024 serves as a premier platform for scientific exchange and networking among academia, industry, and government researchers. The conference featured a comprehensive program with lectures, poster sessions, exhibitions, and vendor seminars showcasing the latest advancements in chromatography.

Held at the ACC Liverpool along the city’s world heritage waterfront, ISC 2024 also offered a vibrant social program with events like a conference dinner at Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral and a night out at the Cavern Club. These activities provided opportunities for informal networking in a culturally rich setting.
